CONTEMPORARY ISSUE ART INSTALLATION
Semester-long collaborative process of research, idea generation, and concept execution.

THE FABRIC OF COMMUNITY
This installation focused on the issue of gentrification. We gathered responses to the prompt "What makes you think of home?" and put them on fabric. The fabric was then destroyed and displayed in its tattered state, reflective of the process of gentrification. In addition to the physical installation, a website showcasing details of the process was also created featuring images, videos, and a project narrative.

PERSONAL ITERATIVE DESIGN WORK
While the majority of the intensive project relied on collaboration for the bulk of idea generation, there were many opportunities for personal expression within the group project.
In the collage, emphasis was placed on capturing the stylistic inspiration by including graffiti relating to the issue of gentrification, images of gentrified areas, all behind ripped fabric, as seen in the final installation.
The black and white sketch focuses on accurately depicting the final appearance of the installation prior to the piece actually being installed.
For the physical study models, I focused on material exploration, using a variety of fabrics and marking materials such as paint, markers, and embroidery thread.
